Employees often say they wish their organization did more to address WPV. While online training is designed to address active shooter and other extreme forms of violence, many incidents go unaddressed by management. Uncivil behavior, angry outbursts, harassing comments, and other aggressive behavior can be ignored as "part of the job". Organizational support is important for building a work environment that is inclusive and where employees feel they have the backing of their managers and executive leadership. Employees need to know they are cared for. Their perception of organizational support is key for staying engaged and performing at their best.
